Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased seven percent

In February 2020, 61,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Västmanland County (+6.8 %), of which 57,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights increased three percent. In total, registered bed nights increased seven percent from last year's February.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (1,000 nights).

16,000 rooms (+13.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 21,200 rooms (+7.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 110,000 registered bed nights (+8.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,900 (-15.7 %) for foreigners in Västmanland County, in total 119,000 (+5.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.4 million registered bed nights (+3.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.5 million nights (+5.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 935,000 nights (-2.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Västmanland County out of total registered bed nights was 1.4 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay increased one percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. In Västmanland County, length of stay in February was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (-3.1 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västmanland County on average 1.8 nights (-0.3 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+4.3 %).

34,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.0 percent were domestic, and 7.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västmanland County on average 1.8 nights (+0.03) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.25).
