32,900 registered bed nights

In April 2020, 32,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Västmanland County (-50.5 %), of which 31,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 49 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 73 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 51 percent from last year's April.

5,900 rooms (-57.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,500 rooms (-63.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 182,000 registered bed nights (-18.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 13,000 (-37.4 %) for foreigners in Västmanland County, in total 195,000 (-19.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.3 million registered bed nights (-70.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (-65.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 114,000 nights (-88.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Västmanland County out of total registered bed nights was 2.6 % (+1.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.7 % and foreign bed nights 1.3 %.

Length of stay increased 31 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 31 percent compared to earlier year. In Västmanland County, length of stay in April was on average 2.4 nights and in Sweden 2.5 nights (+16.7 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västmanland County on average 2.3 nights (+6.1 %) and foreigners 3.4 nights (+9.2 %).

13,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 62 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.9 percent were domestic, and 3.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västmanland County on average 2.3 nights (+0.57) and foreigners 3.4 nights (+0.9).
