Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 51 percent

In April 2021, 49,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Västmanland County (+50.8 %), of which 47,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 50 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 57 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 51 percent from last year's April.

13,200 rooms (+124.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 11,300 rooms (+32.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 153,000 registered bed nights (-16.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,300 (-36.4 %) for foreigners in Västmanland County, in total 161,000 (-17.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.9 percent

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 219,000 nights (+91.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Västmanland County out of total registered bed nights was 1.9 % (-0.7 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.0 % and foreign bed nights 1.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.0 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 16 percent compared to earlier year. In Västmanland County, length of stay in April was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 2.5 nights (+1.3 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västmanland County on average 2.0 nights (+7.8 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+30.7 %).

24,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 79 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.3 percent were domestic, and 3.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Västmanland County on average 2.0 nights (-0.36) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-0.92).
