Vaxholm: Tourism in a nutshell

6,300 registered bed nights
In May 2022, 6,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Vaxholm (-25.2 %), of which 5,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 670 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 30 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 101 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 25 percent from last year's May.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (320 nights).
870 rooms (+41.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 520 rooms (+82.2 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 18,100 registered bed nights (-8.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,300 (+173.2 %) for foreigners in Vaxholm, in total 19,400 (-4.0 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.7 percent were domestic, and 11.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaxholm on average 1.9 nights (-0.5) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.2).
