14,400 registered bed nights

In August 2019, 14,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Vaxholm (-1.3 %), of which 8,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 16 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 31 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased one percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (2,800 nights).

1,200 rooms (-15.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 790 rooms (+215.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 43,300 registered bed nights (-12.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 16,800 (+18.0 %) for foreigners in Vaxholm, in total 60,200 (-6.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.9 million registered bed nights (+3.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.1 million nights (+4.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.8 million nights (+3.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vaxholm out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased less than one percent compared to earlier year. In Vaxholm, length of stay in August was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (+0.4 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaxholm on average 2.1 nights (+4.0 %) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-8.0 %).

7,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 54.4 percent were domestic, and 45.6 percent were from foreign countries.
