Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased six percent

In September 2019, 5,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Vaxholm (+6.2 %), of which 4,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased one percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 42 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's September.

480 rooms (-43.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 720 rooms (+143.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 48,000 registered bed nights (-11.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 17,900 (+19.1 %) for foreigners in Vaxholm, in total 65,800 (-5.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vaxholm out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased 15 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 15 percent compared to earlier year. In Vaxholm, length of stay in September was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-1.3 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaxholm on average 1.9 nights (+5.1 %) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-7.3 %).

3,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 80.6 percent were domestic, and 19.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaxholm on average 1.9 nights (+0.27) and foreigners 1.7 nights (+0.11).
