Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 93 percent

In May 2021, 8,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Vaxholm (+92.7 %), of which 8,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 330 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 89 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 300 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 93 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (85 nights).

620 rooms (+64.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 290 rooms (+302.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 19,800 registered bed nights (+51.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 470 (+75.4 %) for foreigners in Vaxholm, in total 20,200 (+51.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.3 million registered bed nights (+46.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (+45.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 291,000 nights (+65.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vaxholm out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.3 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. In Vaxholm, length of stay in May was on average 2.3 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (-5.3 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaxholm on average 2.4 nights (+10.2 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-17.9 %).

3,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 100 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.2 percent were domestic, and 4.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaxholm on average 2.4 nights (-0.08) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-0.08).
