Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 55 percent

In August 2021, 16,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Vaxholm (+54.8 %), of which 11,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 20 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 640 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 55 percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (2,300 nights).

1,100 rooms (-3.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 780 rooms (+14.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 59,100 registered bed nights (+35.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,800 (+460.1 %) for foreigners in Vaxholm, in total 67,900 (+50.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.4 million registered bed nights (+39.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.8 million nights (+25.4 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.6 million nights (+160.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vaxholm out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased less than one percent compared to earlier year. In Vaxholm, length of stay in August was on average 2.1 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-3.6 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaxholm on average 2.2 nights (+3.3 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+1.6 %).

7,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 54 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 69.9 percent were domestic, and 30.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vaxholm on average 2.2 nights (+0.07) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+0.18).
