19,900 registered bed nights

In September 2020, 19,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Växjö (-22.7 %), of which 17,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 22 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 29 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 23 percent from last year's September.

5,200 rooms (-17.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,300 rooms (-33.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 151,000 registered bed nights (-28.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 16,700 (-68.8 %) for foreigners in Växjö, in total 168,000 (-36.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.6 percent

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-19.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 441,000 nights (-61.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Växjö out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

11,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 29 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.1 percent were domestic, and 10.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Växjö on average 1.6 nights (+0.14) and foreigners 1.9 nights (+0.18).
