Registered bed nights increased 22 percent

In September 2021, 24,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Växjö (+21.6 %), of which 20,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 20 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 36 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 22 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (860 nights).

5,700 rooms (+10.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 11,000 rooms (+32.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 156,000 registered bed nights (+3.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 27,700 (+66.3 %) for foreigners in Växjö, in total 184,000 (+9.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.6 percent

Total of 4.1 million registered bed nights (+30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+24.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 723,000 nights (+65.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Växjö out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

15,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 26 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 88.0 percent were domestic, and 12.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Växjö on average 1.6 nights (-0.06) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.04).
