Registered bed nights increased four percent

In August 2022, 39,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Växjö (+3.8 %), of which 27,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 11,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased three percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 25 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's August.

10,100 rooms (+17.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 11,700 rooms (+35.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 182,000 registered bed nights (+34.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 46,800 (+92.7 %) for foreigners in Växjö, in total 229,000 (+43.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 8.8 million registered bed nights (+5.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.5 million nights (-4.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.3 million nights (+44.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Växjö out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

22,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 74.5 percent were domestic, and 25.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Växjö on average 1.7 nights (+0.02) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+0.08).
