25,800 registered bed nights

In September 2019, 25,800 bed nights were recorded in Växjö (-7.0 %), of which 22,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,500 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased eight percent and foreign bed nights decreased one percent. In total, bed nights decreased seven percent from last year's September.

6,300 rooms (+3.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 12,600 rooms (+1.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 210,000 bed nights (+1.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 53,300 (+16.4 %) for foreigners in Växjö, in total 264,000 (+3.9 %) nights.

Market share 0.6 percent

Total of 4.5 million bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Växjö out of total bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

16,800 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 88.1 percent were domestic, and 11.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Växjö on average 1.5 nights (-0.07) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.14).
