Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased eight percent

In March 2023, 26,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Växjö (+7.5 %), of which 23,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased six percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 22 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased eight percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (660 nights).

9,300 rooms (+25.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 10,700 rooms (-4.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 59,800 registered bed nights (+24.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,800 (+11.1 %) for foreigners in Växjö, in total 65,600 (+23.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.7 percent

Total of 3.9 million registered bed nights (+4.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (+2.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 747,000 nights (+15.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Växjö out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay was 1.7 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. In Växjö, length of stay in March was on average 1.7 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-6.3 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Växjö on average 1.6 nights (-5.8 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-3.8 %).

15,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.3 percent were domestic, and 8.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Växjö on average 1.6 nights (-0.03) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+0.03).
