Registered bed nights increased 47 percent

In January 2022, 11,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Växjö (+47.4 %), of which 10,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 41 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 135 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 47 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (440 nights).

3,200 rooms (+44.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,600 rooms (+51.5 %) by business visitors.

Market share 0.5 percent

Total of 2.4 million registered bed nights (+6.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.0 million nights (-3.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 405,000 nights (+108.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Växjö out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

7,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 61 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.8 percent were domestic, and 10.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Växjö on average 1.7 nights (-0.18) and foreigners 1.7 nights (+0.14).
