Registered bed nights increased 80 percent

In April 2021, 11,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Växjö (+79.7 %), of which 10,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 70 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 260 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 80 percent from last year's April.

3,300 rooms (+98.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,600 rooms (+45.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 35,900 registered bed nights (-36.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,400 (-30.4 %) for foreigners in Växjö, in total 39,300 (-36.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.5 percent

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+102.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (+103.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (+90.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Växjö out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

7,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 118 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.3 percent were domestic, and 7.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Växjö on average 1.6 nights (-0.38) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.03).
