18,700 registered bed nights

In December 2018, 18,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Växjö (-11.5 %), of which 16,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 14 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 18 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 11 percent from last year's December.

4,800 rooms (+1.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 7,300 rooms (-9.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 276,000 registered bed nights (-4.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 53,000 (-4.9 %) for foreigners in Växjö, in total 329,000 (-4.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (+3.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Växjö out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay was 1.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. In Växjö, length of stay in December was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Växjö on average 1.5 nights (-1.2 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-3.9 %).

11,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.2 percent were domestic, and 7.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Växjö on average 1.5 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+0.48).
