23,500 registered bed nights

In March 2019, 23,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Växjö (-0.9 %), of which 21,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased two percent and registered foreign bed nights increased nine percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased one percent from last year's March.

5,100 rooms (-5.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 11,800 rooms (+16.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 61,500 registered bed nights (+0.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,000 (+28.9 %) for foreigners in Växjö, in total 68,500 (+3.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (-3.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.6 million nights (-1.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 888,000 nights (-12.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Växjö out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 1.5 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Växjö, length of stay in March was on average 1.5 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-4.6 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Växjö on average 1.5 nights (-4.3 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+38.9 %).

15,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.0 percent were domestic, and 6.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Växjö on average 1.5 nights (-0.18) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+0.28).
