Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 84 percent

In February 2022, 17,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Växjö (+83.8 %), of which 15,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 82 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 105 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 84 percent from last year's February.

4,300 rooms (+63.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 8,100 rooms (+110.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 25,900 registered bed nights (+62.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,900 (+117.2 %) for foreigners in Växjö, in total 28,800 (+66.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.6 percent

Total of 2.9 million registered bed nights (+10.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.3 million nights (-3.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 571,000 nights (+159.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Växjö out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay was 1.7 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Växjö, length of stay in February was on average 1.7 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (-34.6 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Växjö on average 1.7 nights (-6.4 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+2.7 %).

10,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 88 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.9 percent were domestic, and 8.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Växjö on average 1.7 nights (-0.04) and foreigners 2.0 nights (-0.03).
