Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 27 percent

In March 2023, 12,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Vest-Agder (+27.0 %), of which 11,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 20 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 146 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 27 percent from last year's March.

3,400 nights (+17.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,000 nights (+12.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 25,100 registered bed nights (+25.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,900 (+65.5 %) for foreigners in Vest-Agder, in total 27,000 (+27.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.5 percent

Total of 2.4 million registered bed nights (+2.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.8 million nights (+0.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 554,000 nights (+9.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vest-Agder out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 2.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Vest-Agder, length of stay in March was on average 2.6 nights and in Norway 2.0 nights (-6.1 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vest-Agder on average 2.6 nights (-8.0 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-46.6 %).

5,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 39 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.3 percent were domestic, and 12.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vest-Agder on average 2.6 nights (-0.12) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-1.9).
