Paid bed nights

4,000 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 4,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Vest-Agder (-68.0 %), of which 3,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 119 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 56 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 97 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 68 percent from last year's May.

970 nights (-56.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 660 nights (-77.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 20,800 registered bed nights (-44.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,300 (-78.2 %) for foreigners in Vest-Agder, in total 22,100 (-49.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 1.0 million registered bed nights (-62.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 959,000 nights (-51.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 70,600 nights (-90.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vest-Agder out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay was 2.4 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Vest-Agder, length of stay in May was on average 2.4 nights and in Norway 2.7 nights (+46.1 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vest-Agder on average 2.3 nights (+8.0 %) and foreigners 3.0 nights (-8.0 %).

1,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 66 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.7 percent were domestic, and 2.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vest-Agder on average 2.3 nights (+0.02) and foreigners 3.0 nights (-0.31).
