Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 25 percent

In December 2021, 4,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Vest-Agder (+25.1 %), of which 3,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 390 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 14 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 980 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 25 percent from last year's December.

870 nights (+31.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,400 nights (+131.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 115,000 registered bed nights (+16.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,300 (+7.0 %) for foreigners in Vest-Agder, in total 127,000 (+15.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 1.3 million registered bed nights (+49.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 980,000 nights (+31.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 271,000 nights (+196.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vest-Agder out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 26 percent compared to earlier year. In Vest-Agder, length of stay in December was on average 2.6 nights and in Norway 2.2 nights (-10.3 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vest-Agder on average 2.6 nights (+2.9 %) and foreigners 3.7 nights (+28.3 %).

1,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 69 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.1 percent were domestic, and 6.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vest-Agder on average 2.6 nights (-0.97) and foreigners 3.7 nights (-3.5).
