Registered bed nights increased 27 percent

In August 2022, 58,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Vest-Telemark (+27.4 %), of which 36,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 22,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 240 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 27 percent from last year's August.

14,000 nights (+1.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 470 nights (+307.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 174,000 registered bed nights (-12.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 81,800 (+539.3 %) for foreigners in Vest-Telemark, in total 256,000 (+21.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.1 percent

Total of 5.2 million registered bed nights (+18.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (-8.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.9 million nights (+129.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vest-Telemark out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 1.1 %.

27,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 22 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 57.8 percent were domestic, and 42.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vest-Telemark on average 2.3 nights (+0.25) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.09).
