4,900 registered bed nights

In December 2021, 4,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Vest-Telemark (-24.4 %), of which 2,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 59 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 1,400 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 24 percent from last year's December.

5,700 nights were spend by leisure visitors and 950 nights by business visitors.

Between January and December, 229,000 registered bed nights (+8.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 18,200 (-54.1 %) for foreigners in Vest-Telemark, in total 248,000 (-1.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 1.3 million registered bed nights (+49.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 980,000 nights (+31.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 271,000 nights (+196.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vest-Telemark out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

Length of stay increased 30 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 30 percent compared to earlier year. In Vest-Telemark, length of stay in December was on average 3.8 nights and in Norway 2.2 nights (-10.3 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vest-Telemark on average 2.9 nights (+0.9 %) and foreigners 6.2 nights (-25.9 %).

1,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 42 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 70.6 percent were domestic, and 29.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vest-Telemark on average 2.9 nights (-0.03) and foreigners 6.2 nights (+0.53).
