Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 93 percent

In September 2021, 27,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Vesterålen And Narvik (+93.2 %), of which 20,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 59 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 350 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 93 percent from last year's September.

8,300 nights (+34.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 9,500 nights (+16.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 208,000 registered bed nights (+45.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 40,800 (+29.1 %) for foreigners in Vesterålen And Narvik, in total 248,000 (+42.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.1 percent

Total of 2.6 million registered bed nights (+44.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.2 million nights (+34.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 452,000 nights (+120.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vesterålen And Narvik out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 1.7 %.

Length of stay was 1.7 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 11 percent compared to earlier year. In Vesterålen And Narvik, length of stay in September was on average 1.7 nights and in Norway 2.0 nights (-3.8 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vesterålen And Narvik on average 1.8 nights (+1.9 %) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-2.1 %).

15,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 117 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 71.1 percent were domestic, and 28.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vesterålen And Narvik on average 1.8 nights (-0.12) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-0.84).
