Registered bed nights increased 21 percent

In January 2022, 11,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Vesterålen And Narvik (+20.8 %), of which 9,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 73 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 21 percent from last year's January.

4,000 nights (+78.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,300 nights (+28.3 %) by business visitors.

Total of 1.2 million registered bed nights (+51.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 888,000 nights (+35.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 292,000 nights (+132.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vesterålen And Narvik out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.9 %.

Length of stay was 2.3 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 14 percent compared to earlier year. In Vesterålen And Narvik, length of stay in January was on average 2.3 nights and in Norway 2.3 nights (-17.7 %).
