Registered bed nights increased 36 percent

In August 2022, 882,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Vestland (+35.6 %), of which 386,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 497,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 16 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 161 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 36 percent from last year's August.

407,000 nights (+54.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 99,000 nights (+41.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 2.3 million registered bed nights (+4.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1.6 million (+288.5 %) for foreigners in Vestland, in total 3.9 million (+49.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 17.1 percent

Total of 5.2 million registered bed nights (+18.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (-8.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.9 million nights (+129.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vestland out of total registered bed nights was 17.1 % (+2.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 11.9 % and foreign bed nights 25.9 %.

484,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 34 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 43.2 percent were domestic, and 56.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vestland on average 1.8 nights (+0.05) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.03).
