Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 15 percent

In February 2023, 231,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Vestland (+14.8 %), of which 191,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 39,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 17 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased five percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 15 percent from last year's February.

109,000 nights (+30.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 69,000 nights (-1.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 348,000 registered bed nights (+28.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 71,600 (+19.3 %) for foreigners in Vestland, in total 419,000 (+27.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 10.9 percent

Total of 2.1 million registered bed nights (+18.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.5 million nights (+17.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 577,000 nights (+23.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vestland out of total registered bed nights was 10.9 % (-0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 12.5 % and foreign bed nights 6.9 %.

Length of stay was 1.8 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 12 percent compared to earlier year. In Vestland, length of stay in February was on average 1.8 nights and in Norway 2.0 nights (-9.6 %).

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vestland on average 1.7 nights (-11.4 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-26.7 %).

131,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 31 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 84.3 percent were domestic, and 15.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vestland on average 1.7 nights (-0.17) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.73).
