Vestland: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered accommodation. All changes are relative to the same period a year ago.
Registered bed nights increased 72 percent
In May 2021, 245,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Vestland (+71.6 %), of which 222,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 22,800 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 70 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 92 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 72 percent from last year's May.
72,700 nights (+184.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 64,200 nights (+46.3 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 614,000 registered bed nights (+2.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 98,500 (-24.3 %) for foreigners in Vestland, in total 713,000 (-2.0 %) registered nights.

113,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 76 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.9 percent were domestic, and 5.1 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vestland on average 2.1 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 4.0 nights (+0.78).

Registered accommodation sales in May were 116.1 million crowns (+57.8 million).
Registered January-May sales were 378.7 million crowns and they decreased 38.5 million euro from the previous year.
