Registered bed nights increased 17 percent

In January 2022, 129,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Vestland (+17.1 %), of which 107,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 22,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 19 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased eight percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 17 percent from last year's January.

43,500 nights (+82.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 54,300 nights (+2.8 %) by business visitors.

Total of 1.2 million registered bed nights (+51.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 888,000 nights (+35.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 292,000 nights (+132.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vestland out of total registered bed nights was 11.0 % (-3.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 12.0 % and foreign bed nights 7.7 %.

Length of stay was 2.1 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 19 percent compared to earlier year. In Vestland, length of stay in January was on average 2.1 nights and in Norway 2.3 nights (-17.7 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vestland on average 2.1 nights and foreigners 2.6 nights .

60,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 44 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.8 percent were domestic, and 14.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vestland on average 2.1 nights (-0.3) and foreigners 2.6 nights (-2.6).
