Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 108 percent

In March 2022, 269,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Vestland (+107.9 %), of which 224,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 45,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 100 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 160 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 108 percent from last year's March.

104,000 nights (+182.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 84,100 nights (+51.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 495,000 registered bed nights (+71.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 105,000 (+90.1 %) for foreigners in Vestland, in total 600,000 (+74.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 11.6 percent

Total of 2.3 million registered bed nights (+142.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.8 million nights (+110.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 507,000 nights (+443.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vestland out of total registered bed nights was 11.6 % (-1.9 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 12.3 % and foreign bed nights 8.9 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 27 percent compared to earlier year. In Vestland, length of stay in March was on average 1.9 nights and in Norway 2.1 nights (-23.5 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vestland on average 1.9 nights (-21.1 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-47.5 %).

138,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 184 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.4 percent were domestic, and 14.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vestland on average 1.9 nights (-0.6) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-2.5).
