Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased six percent

In August 2019, 7,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Vetlanda (+5.9 %), of which 5,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased four percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 42 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (880 nights).

1,600 rooms (-4.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 930 rooms (+17.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 29,800 registered bed nights (-10.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,800 (+53.6 %) for foreigners in Vetlanda, in total 38,600 (-1.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.9 million registered bed nights (+3.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.1 million nights (+4.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.8 million nights (+3.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vetlanda out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased nine percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Vetlanda, length of stay in August was on average 4.1 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (+0.4 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vetlanda on average 3.8 nights (-5.1 %) and foreigners 5.3 nights (+3.4 %).

1,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased three percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 77.9 percent were domestic, and 22.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vetlanda on average 3.8 nights (+0.4) and foreigners 5.3 nights (-1.7).
