Registered bed nights increased 105 percent

In February 2022, 355,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Viken (+105.3 %), of which 231,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 124,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 46 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 750 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 105 percent from last year's February.

117,000 nights (+73.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 83,100 nights (+133.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 400,000 registered bed nights (+37.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 207,000 (+574.7 %) for foreigners in Viken, in total 607,000 (+88.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 20.0 percent

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+92.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (+56.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 466,000 nights (+432.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Viken out of total registered bed nights was 20.0 % (+1.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 17.6 % and foreign bed nights 26.6 %.

147,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 141 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 75.7 percent were domestic, and 24.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Viken on average 2.1 nights (-0.69) and foreigners 3.5 nights (-0.34).

Registered January-February sales were 256.3 million crowns and they increased 116.0 million euro from the previous year.
