Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 15 percent

In August 2019, 16,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Vilhelmina (+14.7 %), of which 12,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 47 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 15 percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (1,600 nights).

1,600 rooms (+29.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 360 rooms (-74.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 82,200 registered bed nights (+8.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 16,200 (+23.3 %) for foreigners in Vilhelmina, in total 98,400 (+10.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 8.9 million registered bed nights (+3.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 6.1 million nights (+4.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.8 million nights (+3.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Vilhelmina out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 2.7 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 12 percent compared to earlier year. In Vilhelmina, length of stay in August was on average 2.7 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (+0.4 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Vilhelmina on average 3.0 nights (+1.3 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+22.4 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 30 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 70.2 percent were domestic, and 29.8 percent were from foreign countries.
