Ylivieska Region: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased 14 percent
In June 2019, 3,200 bed nights were recorded in Ylivieska Region (+14.1 %), of which 3,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 196 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 11 percent and foreign bed nights increased 85 percent. In total, bed nights increased 14 percent from last year's June.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (84 nights).
2,100 nights (+35.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,100 nights (-11.4 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 10,300 bed nights (-49.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 730 (-43.5 %) for foreigners in Ylivieska Region, in total 12,600 (-42.5 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 14 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 95.3 percent were domestic, and 4.7 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ylivieska Region on average 1.6 nights (0.0) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.02).
