Registered bed nights increased 56 percent

In May 2022, 2,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Ylivieska Region (+56.4 %), of which 2,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 370 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 44 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 250 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 56 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Poland (188 nights).

1,100 nights (+32.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,600 nights (+77.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 14,500 registered bed nights (+120.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,700 (+590.9 %) for foreigners in Ylivieska Region, in total 16,200 (+137.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.5 million registered bed nights (+82.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.2 million nights (+57.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 319,000 nights (+345.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ylivieska Region out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

1,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 34 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.0 percent were domestic, and 5.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ylivieska Region on average 2.1 nights (+0.2) and foreigners 6.4 nights (+0.12).
