Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 21 percent

In December 2019, 1,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Ylivieska Region (+20.5 %), of which 1,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 175 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 13 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 119 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 21 percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (140 nights).

680 nights (+52.9 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 740 nights (+0.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 24,900 registered bed nights (-38.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,900 (-12.6 %) for foreigners in Ylivieska Region, in total 28,000 (-33.9 %) registered nights.

Length of stay increased one percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. In Ylivieska Region, length of stay in December was on average 1.6 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+1.9 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ylivieska Region on average 1.5 nights (-4.9 %) and foreigners 4.4 nights (-13.0 %).

890 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 19 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.5 percent were domestic, and 4.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ylivieska Region on average 1.5 nights (-0.03) and foreigners 4.4 nights (-2.9).
