Registered bed nights increased 20 percent

In May 2022, 34,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Ystad (+20.0 %), of which 28,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 270 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 20 percent from last year's May.

7,300 rooms (+13.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 4,700 rooms (+116.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 71,700 registered bed nights (+8.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 17,900 (+345.2 %) for foreigners in Ystad, in total 89,600 (+27.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.6 percent

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ystad out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

20,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 70 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 81.9 percent were domestic, and 18.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 1.7 nights (-0.65) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-0.78).
