Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased seven percent

In March 2023, 15,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Ystad (+6.8 %), of which 11,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased two percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 40 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased seven percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (3,600 nights).

5,800 rooms (+7.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,400 rooms (-7.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 29,200 registered bed nights (+3.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 12,800 (+61.8 %) for foreigners in Ystad, in total 42,000 (+16.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 3.9 million registered bed nights (+4.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.2 million nights (+2.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 747,000 nights (+15.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ystad out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

Length of stay increased 12 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 12 percent compared to earlier year. In Ystad, length of stay in March was on average 1.4 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-6.3 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 1.5 nights (+12.3 %) and foreigners 1.2 nights (+10.1 %).

11,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 67.3 percent were domestic, and 32.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 1.5 nights (+0.19) and foreigners 1.2 nights (+0.09).
