Registered bed nights increased 12 percent

In September 2020, 19,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Ystad (+12.0 %), of which 14,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 22 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 12 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 12 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (2,700 nights).

7,800 rooms (+40.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,300 rooms (-42.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 199,000 registered bed nights (+4.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 29,200 (-59.1 %) for foreigners in Ystad, in total 229,000 (-12.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.6 percent

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-30.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-19.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 441,000 nights (-61.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ystad out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 1.0 %.

10,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 16 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 79.1 percent were domestic, and 20.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 1.8 nights (-0.07) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+0.0).
