Ystad: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered accommodation. All changes are relative to the same period a year ago.
Registered bed nights increased 70 percent
In December 2021, 13,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Ystad (+70.4 %), of which 10,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 53 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 250 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 70 percent from last year's December.
5,400 rooms (+86.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,300 rooms (+215.2 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 281,000 registered bed nights (+21.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 35,000 (-1.1 %) for foreigners in Ystad, in total 316,000 (+18.8 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, holiday villages, youth hostels, campsites, and commercially arranged rentals in private cottages and apartments. Establishments with fewer than 9 beds or 5 rooms are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 220 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 79.4 percent were domestic, and 20.6 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 1.3 nights (-1.0) and foreigners 1.1 nights (-1.5).
