Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 28 percent

In December 2018, 11,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Ystad (+27.6 %), of which 8,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 24 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 40 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 28 percent from last year's December.

4,100 rooms (+388.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,700 rooms (-56.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 212,000 registered bed nights (+0.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 64,500 (+20.4 %) for foreigners in Ystad, in total 276,000 (+4.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (+3.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ystad out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased six percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. In Ystad, length of stay in December was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 2.0 nights (-0.8 %) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+5.6 %).

5,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 20 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 81.4 percent were domestic, and 18.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 2.0 nights (+0.16) and foreigners 2.9 nights (-0.42).
