Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased six percent

In March 2019, 12,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Ystad (+5.9 %), of which 9,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased eight percent and registered foreign bed nights increased one percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (2,600 nights).

4,500 rooms (+270.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,100 rooms (-57.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 24,100 registered bed nights (-0.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 10,300 (+9.7 %) for foreigners in Ystad, in total 34,400 (+2.1 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (-3.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.6 million nights (-1.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 888,000 nights (-12.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ystad out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased seven percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Ystad, length of stay in March was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-4.6 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 2.1 nights (+1.9 %) and foreigners 2.7 nights (-6.7 %).

5,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 77.6 percent were domestic, and 22.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 2.1 nights (+0.17) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+0.01).
