Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 11 percent

In September 2019, 17,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Ystad (+10.8 %), of which 12,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased three percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 36 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 11 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (2,200 nights).

4,400 rooms (+18.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 3,700 rooms (-0.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 190,000 registered bed nights (+3.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 71,300 (+29.1 %) for foreigners in Ystad, in total 262,000 (+9.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.4 million nights (+3.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (-1.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ystad out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased two percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. In Ystad, length of stay in September was on average 2.4 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (-1.3 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 2.2 nights (+1.9 %) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+7.1 %).

7,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 75.8 percent were domestic, and 24.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 2.2 nights (+0.07) and foreigners 2.9 nights (-0.3).
