Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 20 percent

In January 2020, 13,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Ystad (+20.5 %), of which 9,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 25 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased nine percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 20 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (3,000 nights).

4,100 rooms (+24.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,200 rooms (-19.5 %) by business visitors.

Total of 3.9 million registered bed nights (+2.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.1 million nights (+2.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 797,000 nights (-0.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ystad out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.4 %.

Length of stay increased 13 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 13 percent compared to earlier year. In Ystad, length of stay in January was on average 2.3 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (-2.0 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 2.3 nights and foreigners 2.4 nights .

5,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 73.7 percent were domestic, and 26.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 2.3 nights (+0.37) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-0.06).
