Paid bed nights

18,900 registered bed nights

In May 2020, 18,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Ystad (-30.9 %), of which 17,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,900 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 23 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 64 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 31 percent from last year's May.

4,400 rooms (-3.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 960 rooms (-73.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 54,900 registered bed nights (-5.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,500 (-43.3 %) for foreigners in Ystad, in total 66,400 (-15.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.8 percent

Total of 2.2 million registered bed nights (-58.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.1 million nights (-49.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 176,000 nights (-86.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ystad out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (+0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 1.1 %.

Length of stay increased 10 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 10 percent compared to earlier year. In Ystad, length of stay in May was on average 4.0 nights and in Sweden 2.4 nights (+30.7 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 4.2 nights (+13.1 %) and foreigners 2.9 nights (-13.6 %).

4,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 37 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 86.1 percent were domestic, and 13.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 4.2 nights (+0.51) and foreigners 2.9 nights (-0.63).
