Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 12 percent

In September 2020, 19,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Ystad (+12.0 %), of which 14,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 22 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 12 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 12 percent from last year's September.

7,600 rooms (+73.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,200 rooms (-41.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 199,000 registered bed nights (+4.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 29,200 (-59.1 %) for foreigners in Ystad, in total 229,000 (-12.6 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-30.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-20.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 436,000 nights (-62.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ystad out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 1.0 %.

Length of stay was 2.0 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 16 percent compared to earlier year. In Ystad, length of stay in September was on average 2.0 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (+4.9 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 1.9 nights (-10.3 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-36.4 %).

9,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 33 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 80.4 percent were domestic, and 19.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 1.9 nights (-0.3) and foreigners 2.4 nights (-0.54).
