Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 25 percent

In October 2020, 19,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Ystad (+25.1 %), of which 14,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 31 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased eight percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 25 percent from last year's October.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (2,400 nights).

6,100 rooms (+51.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,800 rooms (-49.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 214,000 registered bed nights (+6.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 33,400 (-55.6 %) for foreigners in Ystad, in total 248,000 (-10.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.6 percent

Total of 3.1 million registered bed nights (-23.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (-15.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 450,000 nights (-51.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ystad out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.9 %.

Length of stay increased seven percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Ystad, length of stay in October was on average 2.4 nights and in Sweden 2.0 nights (+7.5 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 2.3 nights (-9.4 %) and foreigners 2.8 nights (-33.9 %).

7,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 17 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 80.8 percent were domestic, and 19.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 2.3 nights (+0.15) and foreigners 2.8 nights (+0.27).
