Paid bed nights

7,700 registered bed nights

In December 2020, 7,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Ystad (-37.2 %), of which 7,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 670 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 29 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 72 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 37 percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (330 nights).

2,500 rooms (-36.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 510 rooms (-69.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 231,000 registered bed nights (+3.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 35,400 (-56.1 %) for foreigners in Ystad, in total 266,000 (-12.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (-47.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.6 million nights (-40.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 208,000 nights (-72.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Ystad out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.4 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

Length of stay increased 17 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 17 percent compared to earlier year. In Ystad, length of stay in December was on average 2.7 nights and in Sweden 2.8 nights (+37.5 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 2.6 nights (-5.6 %) and foreigners 3.0 nights (-29.6 %).

2,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 46 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.4 percent were domestic, and 7.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Ystad on average 2.6 nights (+0.38) and foreigners 3.0 nights (+0.61).
